What we do...
We provide private dog training services to clients in central Massachusetts. Training sessions are conducted in the privacy of your home or at another location of your choice.
We use humane science-based training methods without force, fear or intimidation. Our coaching services have helped many clients solve annoying or embarrassing behavioral problems and achieve better relationships with their dogs.
Please feel free to explore our site and contact us regarding your training needs.
Benefits of Our Training Program
We come to you!
We offer only private training services in the comfort of your own home.
No need to drag your dog to inconveniently scheduled group classes and compete with others for the trainer’s attention. Our training is one-on-one and scheduled at your convenience.
Beneficial for all dogs
Private training is beneficial for ALL dogs, especially those who tend to be shy, fearful, or reactive.
Private lessons are also a great alternative for young puppies who cannot attend group classes because of age restrictions.
Customized to your needs
We offer customized training packages based on your specific needs. No “canned” curriculum… We work at your pace and focus our attention on the goals you wish to accomplish.
Children are welcome to participate
We like to get the kids involved in the training.
It helps them learn leadership skills and develop a strong bond with their pet.
Some examples of our work...
We train simple exercises to help your dog to pay attention to you even in a highly distracting environment. Gaining your dog’s undivided attention, even amid distractions, helps to build the relationship you have with your dog and makes training easier.
Discover the joy of a well-behaved pet!
We help owners learn how to communicate with their dogs in a way they will understand. We teach basic cues like “Sit”, “Down”, “Stay”, “Come”, “Heel”, “Take-it”, “Leave-it”, and “Drop-it”. We also help with loose-leash walking and impulse control skills.
We work with dogs who are leash reactive to humans, other dogs, cars, bicycles, etc. to help them re-balance and learn to control their impulses.
We help dogs who are pushy or tend to bolt out the door to have better manners and remain under control while entering and exiting the home.
Jumping on People
We help dogs who are overly excitable upon greeting to learn an alternative way of greeting calmly.
Canine Congeniality was established in 2012. Our Mission is to help pet dog owners prevent or solve common dog behavioral problems so that they may have a great relationship with their pet.
The video here is an example of our work. We use games like “fetch” to teach owners how to communicate with their pets in a way they will understand. Enjoy!
